Maxim Breakstone is a medical student at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He graduated from the Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program with a B.A. in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and a B.S. in Computer Science. Prior to working with the Sun Lab, he conducted a research project at the Rutgers University Nelson Labs studying the thermodynamics of protein aggregation in neurodegenerative disease. His work with the Sun Lab further reconciles his unique combination of passions in neuro- and computer science, conducting a project to develop computational methods of analyzing the excitatory/inhibitory imbalance in spontaneous and ontogenetic models of epileptogenesis.
